Kenton County Public Library is seeking to hire a full-time Library Associate to answer patrons' questions and assist them with basic circulation, reference, and readers advisory all while providing excellent customer service. This position offers $13.00/hr plus our full-time staff accrues sick, vacation, personal, and holiday time. Benefits include health insurance. A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A LIBRARY ASSOCIATE
As a Library Associate, you love interacting with people and are able to make personal connections easily and ensure that every patron feels welcome. From small children to adults, you are able to easily assist with basic circulation, reference, and readers advisory at all service points including the drive-thru window. When our patrons have requests for information, assistance in using resources, locating materials, or equipment use, you are happy to assist them and ensure that they have a great experience. You process library card applications and inform new cardholders of basic library benefits and services.
You take charge of challenging opportunities as they arise and provide excellent customer service. Your positive, friendly disposition comes through in all your interactions and is one of the reasons our patrons love coming to our library. There are always a variety of tasks that you can help with, so you are never bored. You love being surrounded by books and enjoy interacting with people every day.
QUALIFICATIONS
A bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required.
WORK SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek. Schedule for this position varies, evenings and weekends required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with the public
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to bend, kneel, and reach to retrieve library materials
- Ability to carry items weighing 20-30 lbs and push book trucks or bins weighing 100 lbs
