Reports to: Senior Manager Marketing

Position Overview:

As a Product Marketing Manager – for Solution and Content Marketing, you will collaborate across the organization to develop and launch go-to-market strategies supporting our overall solution. We are looking for a ‘full stack’ product marketer with experience guiding company-wide initiatives from launching new product and service enhancements to strengthening differentiation through storytelling in a highly competitive environment. In this role, you will take an end-to-end view of the sales process and advocate for ways to drive higher win rates and sales productivity. Successful candidates will have owned developing messaging and positioning across a product suite, defined and evangelized competitive differentiation, brought the voice of clients and field feedback into value propositions, and enabled internal teams across—from creating sales enablement content to serving as a subject matter expert for marketing campaigns.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define platform positioning & core sales content: Build and refine content that enables Sales & Marketing to communicate value, convey differentiation, and maps to buying process & personas rooted in field feedback & voice of client.

  • Take a leading role in building competitive intelligence: Look at our offering inside out and outside in. Translate platform messaging and sales insights into competitive positioning that enables Paylocity field teams to differentiate from competitors and increase win rate. Become a subject matter expert in our technology, market trends, and target personas.

  • Support expansion with enterprise organizations: Build on our momentum and track record supporting enterprise clients with tailored messaging & content aligned to the needs, buying process, and personas of large organizations.

  • Launch new products & services enhancements: Collaborate across Product & Operations teams to bring new capabilities to market that support overall value prop to clients including our embedded AI offerings and implementation & service improvements.

  • Internal evangelism: Serve as subject matter expert within Marketing and to other internal partners. Share information, develop messaging and positioning, and lead the development of deliverables across a range of formats (decks, long form content, web pages, product collateral like one-pagers or whitepapers, etc.)

  • Build relationships across functions & leaders: Build trusted partnership across Marketing, Sales, Product, and Operations by guiding cross functional work based on competitive, field, and client insights to inform overall go-to-market strategy and planning. Monitor performance of programs and content including measuring, reporting, and presenting key performance metrics at the executive level.

  • Serve as internal evangelist and subject matter expert within Marketing and to other partners. Share information, develop messaging and positioning, and generate excitement.

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years of B2B product marketing in SaaS

  • BA/BS in Marketing, Business, Technology, or a related field

  • Experience leading cross-functional GTM strategy planning and execution including track record building marketing and sales programs

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels, spanning from buyers and end-users to department leadership

  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Product, Sales Operations, and Enablement

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to derive insights from data for decision-making and advocate for solutions based on a combination of data and experience

  • Ability to become expert in new products, evaluate them in the competitive environment, and define messaging aligned to customer value and use cases—experience with competitive intelligence preferred

  • Organized, detail-oriented and highly motivated, with project management experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Highly reliable and accountable to achieve deadlines, working with multiple team members across different departments, while managing multiple projects

  • Must be a self-starter and problem solver not afraid to challenge priorities, ask questions, and make tradeoffs

  • Expert in Microsoft Suite, familiarity with marketing automation tools, sales enablement platforms, sales analytics, and CRM

  • Strong understanding of marketing analytics and KPIs, and track record of successfully setting and meeting targets

This role can be performed from any office in the US. The pay range for this position is $103,000 - $139,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance in addition to a full range of benefits outlined here.
