Our success will be built on amazing colleagues, working together. Job Overview Macy's is seeking a strategic media planning leader to create the media plan for all initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in planning large scale media campaigns and have extensive experience in building and managing high performing teams, as well as managing key relationships across internal stakeholders, strategic agencies and media partners. The ideal candidate has expert knowledge of media measurement of key brand metrics (e.g. consideration, purchase intent) and ROI/ROAS. They are experienced in working with various media models (MMM, MTA), media analytics and measurement teams to optimize omni sales. What You Will Do Media Strategy Development: Set vision, articulate opportunity and lead the media strategy for all marketing plans to deliver business outcomes. Translate data insights into actionable media plans across various channels. Model GRPs to business and brand KPIs, including traffic and sales. Collaborate with cross-functional partners including marketing leads, creative, marketing effectiveness to plan cohesive and impactful campaigns. Stay up to date on the latest trends in media consumption, opportunities, and consumer insights to inform media plans. Manage relationships with media agencies and vendors to optimize partnerships and plans. Utilize data-driven insights and media math to optimize media buying, ensuring maximum ROI across various channels. Identify and evaluate new media opportunities such as emerging channels and technologies to drive innovation in media planning. Build strong working relationships and influence cross-functional partners across Marketing, Creative, Insights & Analytics, Social and Brand Strategy in order to develop innovative, impactful and integrated work and definitions of success. Identify and proactively craft new processes and approaches to leverage paid media to drive brand health and business growth. Drive a results driven mindset throughout the team and instill a high level sense of accountability to achieve goals. Drive performance and efficacy across individual and collective media channels, leveraging quantitative and qualitative insights to influence media strategies, and inform tactical planning, execution and optimization. Maximize effectiveness (positive impact on brand KPIs) and efficiency (optimal use of Media budget). Data-Driven Optimization: Utilize data-driven methodology, analysis, and measurement to improve campaign effectiveness and efficiency. Analyze audience behavior, media consumption patterns, and campaign effectiveness. Utilize attribution modeling to measure the impact of different media channels on customer acquisition and sales. Analytical Skills: Demonstrate strong analytical skills to use data to optimize campaign performance. Write clear and concise data-driven briefs. Have a strong understanding of advertising, audience targeting, and marketing technologies. Apply media testing approaches (e.g., audience segmentation, geoX/match market testing). Leverage analytical models such as MMM/MTA/last click. Team Leadership and Collaboration: Cultivate high-performing teams and foster a collaborative approach across teams. Work in fast-paced environments with a focus on attention to detail. Be proactive, solutions-oriented, and articulate strategy and results clearly. Skills You Will Need Strong track record in planning large-scale media campaigns ($100M+) across different media types. Strong understanding of media measurement and key brand metrics (e.g., consideration, purchase intent). Expertise in working with various media models (MMM, MTA), media analytics, and measurement teams. Proven ability to drive omni sales through effective media planning and execution. Strong analytical skills and data-driven approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write clear and concise data-driven briefs. Collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset. Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience in the retail or consumer goods industry preferred. Proficiency in media planning and buying tools preferred. Experience with digital media and social media marketing preferred.
