Designer, UX/Visual (Remote, Contract-to-hire)
Job Overview We are looking for a Designer who will help advance our UX and Visual design practices and drive client project success. As part of a cross-functional UXD team, working in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment, this person will be client-facing to help create best-in-class UXD deliverables. This opportunity starts as a 6-month contract with the potential for a full-time, permanent position at the end of the contract period.
Qualifications Have a 2-3 year track record in successful Information Architecture, UX and Visual design projects
Have at least a Bachelor's degree in Interactive Design (or a related field)
Have a strong proficiency in Figma or a comparable digital design tool
Are an innovative, strategic thinker
Are good at quick decision making in response to changing conditions
Are passionate, confident and goal-oriented
Can work well autonomously and remotely without frequent oversight and direction
Can communicate well between clients, designers, and developers
Can challenge the team to grow with ideas/solutions beyond what’s expected
Are a team player and puts ideas first over egos
Are an articulate visual and verbal communicator
Have experience/knowledge in designing sites powered by content management systems
Candidates should be comfortable traveling nationally 2-5 times a year for company and/or client meetings
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to legally work in the United States according to federal law
Responsibilities As part of a cross-functional UXD team, working in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment, this person will be client-facing to help create best-in-class UXD deliverables
Self-motivated and take initiative
This role is 100% remote, so candidates must be comfortable working autonomously and proactively
Accountable for UX and Visual design execution in alignment with strategy, scope and priorities of each project
Fluent in creating component-based design systems (similar to atomic design) for large-scale, content-rich web solutions
Information Architecture: auditing complex websites, developing clear insights, and creating new sitemaps to guide site restructuring
UX Design: creating user flows, wireframes, and annotations that build on our strategic direction and set users up for success
Visual Design: creating new UI designs, design systems, style guides and other materials that communicate our creative recommendations
Thinking conceptually and developing new design systems that help bring a brand identity to fruition for the web
Creating prototypes and helping define user tests as they pertain to the project at hand
Collaborating with other UX designers, visual designers, content strategists, and developers to co-own the final product
Advocating for the user-centered design methodology and can convey its value internally and externally
Helping evolve and setting a high standard for OHO’s and our client’s UX and Design approaches
Benefits The annual salary range for this role is $75-85k, depending on experience
