Overview of the Senior Accountant Role In this impactful Senior Accountant role, you will:
Prepare and Post Journal Entries: Handle accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and cash transactions for accuracy in financial reporting.
Assist with Budget Variances: Support the financial team in tracking and analyzing budget discrepancies.
Review General Ledger Accounts: Analyze to ensure accurate and compliant financial data.
Maintain and Reconcile Fixed Assets: Accurately track fixed assets and reconcile related accounts.
Develop Policies and Controls: Help shape effective accounting policies and procedures.
Prepare Monthly Billing/Pay Apps: Generate pay applications for monthly billing cycles.
Identify Process Improvements: Spot areas to streamline and enhance accounting processes.
Support Audits: Assist with both internal and external audits.
Preferred Qualifications for the Senior Accountant The ideal Senior Accountant will have:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Three years of public accounting experience or 6 years in general ledger accounting.
CPA certification (a plus).
Job costing and construction accounting experience (preferred).
