Position Overview: As the Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial activities and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be responsible for managing the organization's financial operations, developing budgets, monitoring cash flow, and providing strategic financial guidance to the leadership team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit financial management, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for our mission. Responsibilities: Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, to the executive team and the Board of Directors. Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and general ledger maintenance. Oversee budget planning and forecasting processes in collaboration with program managers and department heads. Monitor cash flow, investment activities, and financial performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and risk mitigation. Coordinate annual audits and tax filings, ensuring timely submission and compliance with all reporting obligations. Provide strategic financial analysis and guidance to support decision-making processes and long-term organizational sustainability. Collaborate with development and fundraising teams to track and report on grant funds, donations, and restricted funds. Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and best practices in non-profit financial management, and recommend adjustments to policies and procedures as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum of 6 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a non-profit organization. Strong understanding of GAAP principles and non-profit accounting standards. Proficiency in financial software and systems, such as QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar platforms. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and trends. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
