As a Designer, you’ll play a crucial role in bringing this mission to life by leading design projects, mentoring junior designers, and collaborating with clients to create spaces that reflect their unique style and enhance their lives.
This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) that requires a highly motivated and skilled individual with a passion for design, exceptional communication skills, and a strong work ethic. You’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of design projects, from conceptualization and client collaboration to budget management, reviewing technical drawings, and final installation. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring junior designers, fostering their growth and development within the Elegant Simplicity framework.

THE OPPORTUNITY: Leads collaboration with Designer 4 A Day’s clients + JR Designer guiding the D4D session towards a timely execution of the project vision.
Presents design selections to D4D clients.
Reviews final Design Details for D4D projects.
Designing thoughtful, functional, and intentional spaces based on client needs while maintaining the Elegant Simplicity aesthetic.
Communicates final Design Details to client.
Clarifies, in a timely manner, questions from vendors that arise after D4D session.
Takes responsibility for all phases of the project, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring timely communication with clients and resolving issues proactively.
Manages client relationships independently, ensuring that client needs are understood and translated into thoughtful, personalized design solutions.
Assist principal designer as needed to further establish firm (product research, sourcing, pricing/budgeting + establishing trade accounts).
Assist in client/vendor communication via email, phone call + in person presentations + meetings.
Assist principal designer with full service design projects (i.e. design strategy day, project walks, detailed notes, photos, + assistant vendor liaison etc.).
Create and deliver Trades Day Details to contractors for bidding/estimating.
Clip product selections into specification software.
Gather + assemble specbooks including 2D layouts, 2D elevations, hand sketches, product selections as well as 3D Renderings.
Update + maintain sample resource library.
Manage CFA’s, samples + prepare all materials necessary for presentation tray.
Assist in client + vendor communication as needed.
Work directly with principal designer, senior designer, junior designer, technical design team + project coordinator to ensure a seamless completion of project and timely execution of designs.
Will work after hours or on weekends as necessary to meet deadlines.
Take on a deep sense of partnership + accountability in pushing projects to completion alongside the entire team.
Participate in Design/Organizing Install Days.
Actively mentors junior designers supporting their professional development by providing feedback, guidance, and opportunities for learning. Help them to refine their taste in the Elegant Simplicity aesthetic as well as manage their workload in acting as a mentor.
Establishes a strong sense of community within the firm, encouraging cross-department collaboration and promoting a team-driven approach to achieving project success.
Rolls up sleeves + fill in gaps when needed (after all, we are a rapidly growing design firm!).
QUALIFICATIONS: 3-4 years Professional experience in Interior Design (preferred).
Bachelors degree required; preferably in Interior Design, Architecture (Interior).
NCIDQ, PMP, LEED, WELL AP are also assets.
Some technical knowledge and design experience within the industry.
Professional-level software proficiency in working with technical programs such as REVIT, AutoCAD + Enscape or another rendering software (preferred; not required).
Professional-level software proficiency in Word, Excel, Canva.
Must be capable of learning new computer software programs quickly.
A self-starter who is proactive in asking questions + thrives in collaborative team environments while moving projects forward to completion.
Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines.
Ability to demonstrate high-level of professional maturity.

Compensation: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year.
