Nature of Work
This position provides marketing and technology assistance for adult public programming by the Library. The person in this position is responsible for assisting the Library Program Coordinator. The person works within a general outline of work to be performed; develops work methods and sequences under general supervision.
Essential Job Functions
Minimum Requirements
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Requires at least six (6) months of work experience in customer service in a professional setting. Requires strong computer and internet skills. Proficiency required in social media, basic marketing design software with preference in Canva, video and sound presentation, Microsoft Office suite and customer service skills. Performs clerical and manual tasks prescribed by standard practices but which may require attention to detail, computation, the use of several procedures, and the use of independent judgment with obvious choices; requires normal attention for accurate results. Must be able to work weekends and evenings.
Dental Insurance: Dental Insurance is effective after 90 days of employment. Employees may elect a PPO or HMO plan. Provider is United Health Care.
Vision Insurance: Vision Insurance is effective after 90 days of employment. Provider is United Health Care.
Bereavement Leave: 24 hours of leave with pay.
Holidays: 11 paid holidays.

Essential Job Functions
- Assists with designing marketing materials such as program flyers, calendars, and other promotional materials. Assists with content design for social media channels.
- Performs the room set-up and take-down for adult programs and outside organization meeting room reservations.
- Exercises good customer service telephone etiquette by answering general library questions for patrons on the phone and directing callers to the appropriate extension.
- Assists meeting room speakers/users with the use of sound-video equipment and other technical requirements.
- Performs clerical duties such as compiling and maintaining all files relating to library programs for adults, and other projects as assigned.
- Performs library functions such as Circulation duties when so assigned.
- Greets patrons and follows good customer service practices at all time
- Exercises good customer service telephone etiquette by answering general library questions for patrons on the phone and directing callers to the appropriate extension.
- Practices patron confidentiality in all transactions with the public.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned and appropriate to the class.
