About the Role:
We're hiring our first Data Scientist to lead Marketing Analytics and Measurement to partner closely with the Marketing team. You will be responsible to help us make sound marketing investment decisions by jointly evaluating performance across platforms, channels, campaigns, and markets. This involves making sure we have a holistic view of the data - spanning ad platforms, MMPs, and more - in one centralized location to standardize and automate reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
Automate daily and weekly marketing reporting by building reports, tables, and dashboards that are accessed and understood by Marketing, Engineering, and Finance in one centralized BI tool. Build data pipelines from ad platforms (like Facebook or Google) and MMPs (like AppsFlyer) into a centralized data warehouse, piecing together key pieces of information in the user journey. Build unified reporting dashboards in our BI tool for a full funnel view across our campaigns. Collaborate with Finance and Marketing to define and report out on metrics like CAC, payback period, and LTV. Design, implement, and assess the results from uplift and geo-split studies to measure incrementally across new channels, campaigns, or markets. Build out a multi-touch attribution model in-house that spans user journeys across iOS, Android and Web platforms. Evaluate additional tooling, being a key partner in build vs. buy decisions. Define and monitor KPIs with alerting, conduct deep dives to identify significant shifts, trends and opportunities. Requirements:
5+ years of relevant work experience in marketing analytics for channels such as but not limited to SEM, Affiliate, Social, and Podcast. Experience working with marketing measurement and attribution (e.g. MTA models), targeting and creative optimization, user segmentation, cohort analyses, time series analyses, and regression models. Understands marketing metrics deeply; can partner and elevate our way of thinking about CAC, LTR, LTV, payback period, and retention. Comfort partnering with marketing to design and execute incrementally testing, attribution or media mix modeling, and spend ROI curves. Familiarity with digital marketing and analytics tools / platforms (Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Ads, Facebook). Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling. Expertise in statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and experimental design for A/B testing; knowledge of data visualization tools to effectively communicate insights. Strong verbal and written communication skills and a track record of being able to work independently and proactively engage cross-functionally. Bonus Points:
Bachelor's or Master's in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Math, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related discipline. BigQuery and Sigma experience.
