Description:

The Senior Mechanical Designer will support the development of innovative designs to challenging engineering problems for a wide variety of applications. The Mechanical Designer will interface regularly with fellow designers and engineers in the creation and modification of mechanical designs to ensure design solutions meet customer requirements and are readily manufacturable.

Utilize 3D CAD tools in the development of complex component and system models and their associated fabrication drawings, demonstrating an understanding of part/system performance and manufacturability, as well as project budget and timeline. Demonstrate attention to detail, familiarity and adherence to ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards, and standards for both Shop and Issued for Construction (IFC) Drawings. Perform origination, review, and/or approval of drawings from other ATS designers and/or third-party designers. Contribute to the Configuration Management of the design baseline by adhering to and recommending improvements to project configuration management practices and processes. Requirements:

10+ years of relevant experience Prior experience with 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks Desired experience with Configuration Management software such as SolidWorks PDM Secret DoD Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret DoD Clearance Experience applying engineering codes and standards such as ASME BPVC, ASME B31.3, AISC 360-10, AWS D1.1, ASME Y14.5, etc.
