This role will lead Verizon's communications, media relations, and event initiatives for diverse segments, focusing on Spanish-speaking and African American markets. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive PR and communications strategies to enhance our brand's reputation, engage diverse audiences, and promote our commitment to the communities we serve. This role requires a skilled communicator with a deep understanding of multicultural PR and communications, how to engage segmented and diverse audiences, and a proven track record of success in media relations and events. Responsibilities include: Develop and implement communication strategies that support Verizon's business objectives and resonate with the Latino and African American markets, as well as segments like Young Adults, Military, and other audiences.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with English and Spanish-language media outlets and organizations.
Create compelling and culturally relevant content in English and Spanish, including press releases, articles, and other content.
Plan and execute events, speaking engagements, etc. that engage diverse audiences.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to all campaigns and launches and alignment of messaging and initiatives across the organization.
Manage a growing segment communications team and PR agency partners to create and execute plans that drive business results.
Serve as communications counsel to senior leadership.
What we're looking for...
You'll need to have: Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
Ten or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Willingness to travel.
Native/bilingual Spanish language proficiency.
Even better if you have one or more of the following: Background in entertainment, tech, CPG, and/or multicultural PR.
Written, oral, and presentation skills.
Proven track record of developing and implementing integrated communications plans that go beyond traditional public relations.
Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and delivering quality consistently.
Effective communication skills for all levels of the organization.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
