Telecommunications Designer

in our

The successful candidates most important qualifications include:

Minimum 1 years' experience in telecom design. Telecom OSP design experience preferred. Telecom CLEC design experience (AutoCAD knowledge), a plus. Autocad experience, a plus. Experience using line styles, cell properties, project reference files, and local coordinates by extracting data using TIN or DTM files and creative scaling techniques. Ability to interpret utility records, engineering plan and profiles and preparing base drawings from survey notes is required. Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Understand the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Motivation to work in a dynamic environment with strict deadlines. Design placement of New cable Fiber and Copper. Design the relocation of cables, manholes, handholes etc. Understanding of telecommunications symbols and terminology with respect to preparation of plan & profile drawings for utility systems located within public right-of ways. Partner with CAD personnel in the design and preparation of detailed commuter aided drawing for construction of private underground utility (utility and electrical conduits) systems. Must meet project completion dates and budgets set by Telecommunications Department Manager and Client(s). Perform independent research and adapt to changing priorities. Work in a collaborative team environment and perform self QA/QC of work. Adhere to CobbFendley's safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment. Work Environment. Most work is performed in a professional office environment. Some trips to client offices and outdoor environments for observations will be required. Office Conditions. Includes extensive use of electronic devices such as computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters, and telephones. Additionally, tasks may involve the use of cutting tools and equipment like rotary paper cutters and plotting devices. Outdoor Conditions. Includes walking and climbing on uneven surfaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions (heat and freezing temperatures), noise, and exposure to allergens (e.g., pollen, dust, cedar, sumac, poison ivy). Safety and Equipment Use. Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, along with handling electric power tools, cutting tools, plotting equipment, rotary paper cutter, and other equipment. Driving and Vehicle Use. May involve driving large pick-up trucks with attached trailers, potentially operating watercraft, and for extended periods of time. Noise and Allergens. Potential exposure to high noise levels and various allergens, including poison ivy, sumac, dust, pollen, and cedar. Wildlife Hazards. Potential exposure to wildlife hazards such as animals, insects, and plants. PHYSICAL + COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS

Seated and Standing Position. Extended periods of sitting and standing in an upright position at a workstation. Mobility. Movement within the office and job sites, including navigating between floors, workstations, and outdoor environments with potential for uneven surfaces. Neck Movement. Forward flexion, extension, or lateral rotation of the head and neck while using multiple computer screens. Repetitive Motion. Repetitive finger movements for operating a computer mouse and typing on a keyboard. Arm Movement. Extending hands and arms in various directions, such as overhead, below the waist, forward, or laterally. Object Handling. Raising or lowering objects from one level to another and transporting objects by holding them in the hands, arms, or over the shoulder. Cognitive Requirements. Selective attention, oral comprehension, oral expression, speech recognition, speech clarity, written comprehension, written expression, problem sensitivity, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning, number facility, information ordering, category flexibility, flexibility of closure, fluency of ideas, and originality. Expected hours of work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
