Responsibilities The purpose of this position is to help increase NFIB’s visibility, name recognition, and influence through earned media, which includes managing NFIB’s relationships with reporters, identifying leads and opportunities for new media relationships, drafting written content for internal and external consumption, and collaborating with various NFIB stakeholders to ensure the Media Department is providing support key to accomplishing organizational goals. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, political science or related field. Three (3) – Five (5) years of experience in a journalism, communications, public relations, or political/campaign work environment. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with experience in writing, editing, and copy-editing; ability to write press releases, op-eds and talking points on deadline and experience handling multiple assignments simultaneously are essential. Familiarity with booking radio and television interviews and general knowledge of national politics and the legislative process. Must be able to help communicate complicated policy positions and concepts, such as tax reform, healthcare reform, labor issues, energy policy, and other public policy issues that affect small business. Proficient in Microsoft Office, media monitoring programs, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Salary Range - $85,000-$95,000 Equal Opportunity Employer
