Our client is seeking a Proofreader / Copy Editor in Weehawken, NJ\ Hybrid.
Role Description
What you'll do:
1. Proofreading, copy editing and fact checking. We'll count on you to be a perfectionist and help polish content until it gleams. You'll find and correct formatting and compositional errors, check corrected proofs of documents against mark-ups and be the last line of defense for our copy quality assurance. 2. Editorial and brand review. As a brand ambassador, you will need to embrace brand training to become the custodian of our voice and style. You will ensure that our style guides are followed, including disclosures and archive data. You're not just a proofreader, you're a brand advocate. 3. Operate independently within a fast-paced in-house agency. You will succeed in this role if you have agency experience, but can operate with the level of finesse that is required with an in-house marketing team. You must be a fast learner, who is able to work under tight deadlines and multitask across various high priority projects. 4. Stay ahead in the financial landscape. You will keep a finger on the pulse of industry trends and changes. You will balance proofreading and copy editing with regulatory requirements of our industry.
Skills & Requirements
What you'll bring: • Proofreading expertise. 5+ years of proofreading experience, preferably in the financial services sector. • Editorial perfection. Proven experience in copy editing, copy voice and tone and proofreading. You have a clear understanding of compliance and regulatory standards to ensure content does not pose a risk to firm. You notice the details other may miss. • Brand enthusiasm. Willingness to undergo brand training and a commitment to upholding brand standards in all communications. • A curious mind and an agile attitude. You can thrive in a corporate yet entrepreneurial environment-multiple projects on tight deadlines don't throw you. You know how to hit the ground running. • Financial acumen. A grasp of financial concepts and the ability to see that they are communicated clearly, succinctly and with a certain charm.
