Federal Work Study, Student Worker - Library Student Assistant
Overview:
Student Assistants mainly perform circulation functions: checking items in/out, renewing items, answer phone calls etc. Other duties include: answering directional questions, instructing students how to print or access blackboard, save items to flash drives, shelve books, and maintain the stacks (book stacks). This is primarily a customer service position that also requires basic technology literacy. Knowledge of the Dewey Decimal System is encouraged but not required. Must be able to work an opening, closing or weekend shift. The position is a temporary, semester by semester assignment, and is contingent upon maintaining current enrollment and Federal Work Study eligibility.
Essential Duties:
"The hiring of student workers by Cincinnati State is premised on eligibility guidelines for federal work study employment: eligible applicants must be high school graduates or have attained a GED. Additionally, eligible applicants for work study positions at Cincinnati State must be at least 16 years of age on or before the date of hire."
Hours: Varying based on department need.
Hourly Pay: $14.00 per hour

Essential Duties:
- Circulate laptops, books, media items and reserves
- Provide guidance for patrons on accessing Cincinnati State online resources (MyServices, Blackboard, etc.)
- Answer basic questions pertaining to Microsoft office software, printing and copying materials
- Assist students with basic computer issues
- Answer the phone and transfer calls as needed
- Shelve books
- Other duties as assigned

- Must have completed a FAFSA for the current school year.
- Must meet and continue to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
- Must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
