The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art (NEHMA) at Utah State University is looking for a professional and experienced PR/Marketing Coordinator to work in a small, team-based office environment. This position will report to NEHMAs Executive Director & Chief Curator and will be responsible for managing public relations and marketing efforts, including overseeing social media accounts. As part of a small team, the coordinator will be responsible for a variety of PR/marketing tasks related to the museums exhibitions, collections, and numerous programs.
This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah. Telework outside of the state of Utah is subject to review and approval by the University prior to a job offer being extended.
Responsibilities:
- Consider the potential audience for various exhibitions and programs, then develop strategies and actions to target the museums programs to those audiences.
- Gain an understanding of the artwork and exhibitions to articulate information in a concise, accessible manner.
- Manage social media platforms to promote Museum exhibitions and events.
- Update public event calendars.
- Work with staff to gather event information and ensure it is shared promptly.
- Coordinate with the Director and staff to draft press releases on time. Work with PR/Marketing firm on these releases and needs for national press coverage. Work with USU Central PR/Marketing for review and dissemination. Serve as the Museums press contact when needed.
- Develop and disseminate a monthly newsletter using MailChimp.
- Track all expense receipts and related data for reporting and review.
- Basic design skills to create videos and flyers preferred.
- Other duties as assigned.

Named for its benefactor, the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art was founded in 1982 through an insightful and generous gift from the Nora Eccles Treadwell Foundation. The Museums 26,000 square foot, four-level purpose-built facility was designed by architect Edward Larabee Barnes. Emphasizing 20th- and 21st-century American art with an emphasis on art in the American West, today the collection consists of over 5,500 artworks.
The Museum organizes exhibitions and numerous public events, all free of charge, to provide educational opportunities for USU undergraduate and graduate students and K-12 and community groups.
