Yorktel is currently seeking a Studio Technician II who shall be proficient in routine television operations to include, but not limited to lighting, audio, set design, and camera operation both in a studio and field environments. The Studio Technician must also must also demonstrate oral and written communication skills appropriate for a professional work environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Works in collaboration with clients and studio staff assisting in the production of a variety of audio and video products for live broadcasting, distribution, and video streaming
  • General production support of all studio positions
  • Responsible for the successful functioning and operation of studio related equipment, including conducting preventative maintenance
  • Responsible for the setup and storage of all studio lighting, camera, teleprompters, backdrops, and other studio props;
  • Setup, operate, and maintain broadcast cameras, video editing and production equipment, audio equipment, specialized imaging and computer-based hardware, and other broadcast-related equipment
  • Keep studio and other work areas clean
  • Assist in the recording of sound when required, checking its quality, editing, and making adjustments when necessary
  • As a camera operator, demonstrate proficiency and execute the physical visual capture for live and recorded broadcast presentation of programming both in-studio and on location
  • Work in collaboration with producers and directors to execute overall programming strategy
  • Maintain a high-level of knowledge of the most current and emerging production techniques and technologies
  • Operate the teleprompter during live events and filming to ensure good working condition of the teleprompter system prior to events and programs
  • Participates in pre-production and post production planning activities when required
  • Maintain a professional approach and demeanor at all times, including interaction with crew, talent, and executives, and other guests
  • Shall assist the video editors in their duties as needed
  • Assists in all other assigned duties related to maintaining and preserving studios and their equipment, and video production projects at client site.

  • Basic knowledge in video editing techniques and conversions

Education and Qualifications:

  • Have five years’ experience as a Studio Technician
  • Have an Associate’s degree or higher in a related field of expertise, plus three years’ experience working in a studio or broadcasting environment

Additional Requirements:

  • Requires extensive sitting, standing and walking
  • Domestic travel requiring multi-night stays within and at times outside the local work area
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Must be willing to complete background checks and drug tests required by current or future contracts
