Job SummaryThe Candidate will create digital reproductions of library and archival materials for Web access and digital preservation for the benefit of researchers, students, and the general community.
Responsibilities include performing quality control, image editing, and creating derivatives of digital images using Adobe Photoshop and other imaging applications; creating and recording metadata about digital objects in departmental tracking system; and maintaining project filing system. The candidate must have the ability to create and maintain project spreadsheets. Candidates may perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Federal Work Study
Desired Qualifications- Proficiency with desktop computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Photoshop CS5 (or higher).
- Experience using Windows and Mac operating systems.
- Scanning or photography experience is also desirable.
- Reliability and attention to detail are a must.
- Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
- Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
- Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Work Schedule
Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.
