Job Description
The Senior Business Analyst is a crucial member of the Advancement Operations team within the Marketing & Communications department, responsible for leveraging data to drive strategic decisions in marketing and fundraising. This role requires a blend of analytical prowess, technical expertise, and strategic thinking to analyze data, develop insights, and support the institution's goals of enhancing donor relationships and increasing student enrollment.
This work can be performed on a hybrid schedule. Minimum of 1-2 days per week in the office per week, with other days working remote.

Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Insight Generation:
- Under the guidance of the Director of Advancement Operations work closely with the marketing, partnerships, and fundraising teams to analyze data from multiple sources (for instance our CRM, marketing analytics, market research, and other third party sources).
- Identify and communicate insights that inform strategies to strengthen relationships with donors, prospective students, and parents.
- Partner with leadership on using market research to generate insights to help assess viability of new major marketing and advancement initiatives.
- Build advanced reports incorporating benchmarks, KPIs, and data visualizations to support the institution's objectives, facilitating informed decision-making and strategy development.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive fundraising dashboards that provide a 360-degree view of existing and prospective donors ensuring stakeholders have access to real-time data and insights.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive marketing dashboards that provide marketing team members with performance reports, insights, and analysis to help them make the best decisions for the university.
Predictive Modeling:
- Create, maintain, and present predictive models for key business objectives, such as charitable giving and program enrollment, using historical data trends to forecast future performance and guide strategic planning.
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in an analyst role, with at least one year experience in an analyst or similar role within a fundraising or marketing function.
- Strong analytical skills, with expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization tools (For example: Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
- Proficiency in data analysis software and CRM systems, with a preference for candidates experienced in platforms used in higher education.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- A strategic thinker and problem solver with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to driving results through data-driven decision making.
