Summary of Primary Functions: Prepares shop tickets for various pre-cast structures using 3-D modeling software and support the design team on a variety of projects and the day-to-day functions as it relates to design and fabrication. Prepares erection drawings using 3-D modeling software under the supervision of the Chief Designer or Design Engineer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.

  • Reads and plots erection details and drawings using 3-D modeling software.

  • Creates shop cards by utilizing 3-D modeling programs, such as SolidWorks, and ensures drawings conform to standard detailing.

  • Presents scrubbed shop cards to Project Lead for their verification of correctness

  • Scrubs red-lines from Project Lead check prints.

  • Details Steel Cards from sketches or markups provided by Project Designers or Design Engineers using 3-D modeling software.

  • May have access to confidential information.

  • Makes independent decisions pertaining to interpretation and rendering of drawings.

  • Has daily contact with fellow employees in other units in the company, top management, customers, vendors/suppliers.


Job Specifications or Qualifications:

Certificates, Licenses, Registration: training and/or certification in SolidWorks/StructureWorks.

Education: Design/ Drafting related Associate's Degree (2 year) is prefered.

Experience: Related work experience may considered in lieu of a degree. Some previous design/drafting experience is a preferred.

Travel Required: Occasional
