TikTok Shop is an innovative e-commerce solution which enables merchants, brands and creators to sell products directly on TikTok and leverage its discovery power to reach an audience of over 1 billion people each month. The TikTok Shop design team is growing and we are seeking an experienced Product Design Manager to join us. As a design leader, you will build, lead, and inspire a team of designers, driving end-to-end designs for innovative commerce experiences for TikTok's global platform. This is a role that will influence the strategic direction of our products and drive high-quality design execution during one of TikTok's most significant periods of growth.

Responsibilities:
1. Work collaboratively with cross-functional peers and design leadership to drive alignment on strategic priorities, define product design direction for end-to-end experiences, and allocate design resources effectively to ensure smooth execution. Foster exceptional communication and collaboration across teams to drive successful outcomes and build trust.
2. Establish strong relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders across functions, modeling leadership that is collaborative and elevates the voice of product design within the organization. Anticipate areas of opportunity or conflict and proactively manage them with articulate communication that helps others see a way forward.
3. Build a team of exceptional designers with intentional, long-term planning, proactive recruitment, and strong performance management. Foster a culture that allows designers to do their best work-one that celebrates quality, encourages creativity and inclusivity, and drives real impact for businesses and people that rely on and love TikTok.
4. Drive high quality design with articulate, well-delivered feedback that improves the teams' ideas and executions. Understand when to dive in deeply to quickly unblock teams and when to pull back. Leverage strong examples to elevate the work of others within and outside of the team.
5. Implement effective processes that enhance the efficiency and design quality of our team and allow it to adapt quickly to the changing needs of our business. Regularly communicate project statuses, risks, and dependencies to manage stakeholder expectations.

Qualifications

Requirements / Qualifications
1. Proven experience as a design leader who has delivered impactful work that has moved businesses forward.
2. Experience collaborating with senior leadership to influence product strategy and product development processes to set teams up for success.
3. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively articulate ideas and rationale to stakeholders at all levels and across time zones.
4. A strong track record of scaling and managing a high-performing team of designers and successfully fostering individuals' growth.
5. Strong product intuition and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex user needs into intuitive and engaging design solutions.
6. Ability to thrive in ambiguity with a bias towards action with the ability to adapt to changing, fast-paced environment.
7. Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time.
8. Passion for e-commerce, user experience, and emerging trends in digital retail.
