Job Description
The Department of Clinical and Transitional Sciences is seeking an experienced Recruitment and Marketing Specialist. This person will work closely with the Assistant Recruiter and Administrative Director of Graduate Studies, to recruit new students into the Biomedical Research graduate programs of the Office of Research and Graduate Education. Additionally, candidates should be able to develop content for the Department of Clinical and Transitional Sciences and Office of Research and Graduate Education websites and social media. Their responsibility will also include the implementation, planning, and management of short and long-term educational, marketing initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
• Work closely with University Communications, School of Medicine Communications, and department affiliates to ensure accuracy of marketing content that adheres to Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine's branding guidelines.
• Ability to take scientists' verbal input and transform it into newswriting, feature writing utilizing AP style writing.
• Experience in social media marketing (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc.) for recruitment and marketing purposes.
• Experience creating digital and direct content such as brochures, email marketing, and mail outs.
• Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Spark, or Canva.
• Familiarity in Umbraco or WordPress to assist in department website updates.
• Assist in the preparation of oral and written communications.
• Ability to grammatically correct written scientific text.
• Identify and target prospective doctoral and STEM master's student's informing these students of the following information - academic programs, admissions requirements, financial assistance, housing opportunities, student activities, organization, parking, orientation, student services, and general information about the Graduate College.
• Develops, coordinates, and implement recruitment strategies for various programs within the Office of Research and Graduate Education as they arise.
• Evaluate recruitment strategies to ensure the needs and objectives of the program and university are met.
• Be able to attend and prepare travel arrangements for several approved recruitment events such as graduate fairs, science symposiums, academies of science and research conferences/events.
• Experience utilizing a Central Application System (CAS) or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
• Organize admission applications and provide application status updates to applicants.
• Provide information about our recruitment efforts and applications to the Administrative Director of Graduate Students to assist in developing grant proposals.
• Gather data to prepare final reports, conducting statistical analysis, and designing questionnaires to improve the recruitment process.
