We are working to both increase the velocity of development and also unlock truly novel game experiences that will surprise, delight, and inspire players. We are focused on a creator-first vision and approach for AI, one that puts creative talent at the center, with AI being a catalyst and an accelerant. We work with multiple external partners on projects to deliver AI-enabled and AI-powered games to the Netflix service, and we also have an internal team exploring what is possible with this new technology.ABOUT THE JOB:As the Senior Producer, supporting GenAI for games, you will work with external partners (startups and established developers), our External Games publishing team, the broader Netflix Games organization, and our own internal teams to deliver great games to the Netflix service that are enabled by and/or powered by AI. You will bring your production skills to bear on three kinds of projects: Early stage prototypes, vertical slices, and proofs of concept that are developed by external partners, which will draw on your skills as an external producer to get the best work out of third party developers without disempowering them. The work here has a strong R&D component as we try to do things that have never been done before, and the projects will be on the frontier, ambitious and exploratory in nature, with many unknowns. If successful, these initial proof points will often lead to full game production projects.AI-enabled and AI-powered games in full production, which are being mostly managed by producers in our External Games organization but require special attention and focus on the AI elements that differentiate and distinguish these games from others in the Netflix Games portfolio. You’ll be a part of a team of producers working on these games.Prototypes and game projects that are underway in our internal team which would benefit from production support.ResponsibilitiesFor early stage external projects that have not yet been greenlit for full production and handed off to our External Games team to bring them to market, you’ll manage the budget and schedule, influence the design and execution based on your creative and strategic judgment, coordinate the communication between our partners and the rest of Netflix, and do your best to set up these efforts for success. For games in full production, you’ll represent GenAI for Games in the multi-disciplinary, cross-functional teams that are managing the games through the launch on the Netflix service. You’ll work with the external partners and with our External Games organization to make sure that the bets on AI are paying off, and you will represent GenAI for Games in all of the forums, processes, and groups involved in game production through launch, including any problem solving around specific issues that surface in development. For internal GenAI projects, you’ll provide production leadership as requested and needed, including management of the schedule and/or schedule, creative input, coordination across the rest of Netflix, and solving resourcing and production problems. You’ll also be a member of the GenAI for Games leadership team, with influence on the projects we decide to pursue as well as the strategy and strategic execution of the new org.Requirements5+ years of experience as a game producerDemonstrated ability to operate successfully in high ambiguity situations and with technologies and platforms that may be in development/unfinished Experience working with both internal and external teamsMobile game development or production experienceGood creative instincts and evidence of making strong creative calls in fluid, highly ambiguous situationsDemonstrated ability to wrangle projects in the early stages of the game life cycle, including assessment of external teams (talent, experience, process), assessment of commercial potential for new games, concepting, high level design, prototyping, and evaluating the results of prototyping in multiple forms (including gray box, spreadsheet, paper, and other forms of proof of design or experience) Demonstrated competence in working through influence (building relationships based on mutual respect and trust, and then shepherding decisions through stakeholders you don’t control or manage, based on the merits and not on emotion) Passion for AI in games and some level of familiarity with what’s going on with AI (and specifically with AI in game design/development)Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable interacting and presenting to all levels at the company as well as external partners and stakeholdersPassion for making video games, especially in a rapid, focused, smaller form vs multi-year investments Ability to source and evaluate new opportunities for deploying AI in game development and new kinds of game experiences - and represent us to potential partners in early discussionsNice To HaveComfortable representing us at conferences or events Some direct experience with AI, even as a part-time creator Experience building games for early or unfinished platformsLocationLos Gatos, CA preferredRemote: United States or Canada will be considered Traveling once a month to the Los Gatos office will be expectedOur compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses.
