Job Description
Capital University Law School is seeking a Law Library Coordinator that reports to the Head of Technical Services and the Law Library Director. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to provide clerical support and technical services support to the Law Library.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the Law Library and Blackmore Library with financial functions, including initiating payment requisitions for the Law Library collection and operations, processing requisitions and deposits received from other university departments, as needed, and entering invoices in the departmental system.
- Processes OhioLINK requests and returns, including physically preparing materials to be sent or received, electronically responding to requests, and coordinates with other libraries, including Blackmore and Hamma libraries.
- Assists in data clean-up projects within ILS.
- Imports records from OCLC or other vendor and generates holding specific information into ILS.
- Creates and affixes spine labels, wraps books, checks in new serials/continuations, shelves materials, maintains special collections, filing, claims, shelf-reading, shifting, weeding, and helps process archival materials.
- Serves in the Law School mail processing rotation. Opens, checks, and routes library mail.
- Assists with preparing and updating materials for various events; schedules spaces necessary for events; oversees Library event space and reservations, coordinates set up with appropriate parties (Housekeeping, Maintenance, table/linen rental, or other services); sets up needed signage. Sets up and maintains event registration as needed. Creates and maintains library displays. Coordinates library holiday and event decorations.
- Perform general office tasks as directed; receive and sort department mail; prepare requisitions and purchase orders, maintain and order supplies. Assists with reviewing and maintaining website and social media pages.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or three years' experience in accounting/book keeping or library technical services working with an ILS.
- Experience in or the ability to learn Microsoft Office, Sierra, Alma, or other ILS library software; general computer hardware; scanning and printing hardware.
- Working knowledge of or ability and willingness to learn library and office practices and procedures, including knowledge of the Library of Congress classification system.
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail, flexibility, creativity, and a strong ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work without supervision and demonstrate considerable initiative.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others as part of a team.
- Good customer service skills.
