Position Summary
Do you love food and storytelling? At Baldor, our Marketing team is responsible for helping customers, potential customers, and possible employees understand what makes our products, our partners, and our people special. As the Content Marketing Manager, a position that reports up to the Director of Brand Marketing, you will have a major hand in that by owning the brand voice and storytelling.
You would be responsible for developing and executing on a content strategy that achieves our primary goals, which are attracting new customers and increasing the spend of existing customers. To do this, you will help tell the story of committed farmers and dedicated artisanal producers, sharing with the world how they perfect the delicate art of taste. You will help tell the story of our products, creating sensory experiences through words and making our foods come alive off of the page or web. You will tell the story of the ethos of our company, and the people who make it their job to provide quality you can trust and service that delivers.
You'll oversee that story across channels, everything from print collateral like a biannual magazine and product sheets to digital experiences like our website copy, campaigns, social media and emails, ensuring that there is a consistent voice. You will also oversee production of materials for our marketing partners. You will work closely with the Creative team to ensure that your compelling content is matched with compelling visuals and with our Analytics Sr. Manager to understand the impact of content being created and the opportunities for optimization.
Responsibilities: Understand demographics, psychographics, journeys and needs for customer audiences for each segment so that you can create the most engaging content strategy and executions possible Meet regularly with channel sales leads and other stakeholders to understand content needs Develop a cross-channel content strategy that meets our stakeholders' and customers' needs with measurable outcomes Work with Brand Director to ensure brand style guidelines and tone of voice are consistent within the content deliverables. Ideate and develop a content calendar of content deliverables that provides visibility to creative and digital teams Write content across web, magazine and e-mail channels in line with content calendar Manage a social media lead, ensuring relevant synergy between overarching content strategy and social strategy Source best-in-class food writers and editors who understand our audience and brand voice; assign them content to create and mentor them to ensure on-brand tone of voice Proofread and edit content to align to brand guidelines, audience needs and business goal Implement SEO best practices on website content Create and meet deadlines for content that allow for adequate time for design, photography, email and web page creation Review performance analytics on content; optimizing based and making forward decisions based on that data Work closely with Creative, Ecommerce, Analytics, Email, Events & Partnerships team members. Qualifications: Passion for food and the food industry Food writing experience a must. 5+ years' experience in content marketing management, developing a consistent, compelling brand voice and leading writers to deliver best-in-class content with measurable brand impact Incredible story-hunting, idea generation, reporting, editing and writing skills Development and management of an editorial calendar, with compliance to deadlines Comfort and depth developing content across many different forms of media, from social media to email to print collateral to signage Knowledge of how to use SEO to help content become more visible and discoverable Deep customer-centricity, with a curiosity to understand customers and write/edit to their needs Experience analyzing content impact using Google Analytics and other tools Positive and agile mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot and thrive in a fast-paced environment, creating content efficiently but with incredibly high standards Transparent and empathetic communicator, who proactively works to connect and build trust above, below and cross-functionally Strong attention to detail
