MORI Associates is seeking a
Proposal Coordinator and Technical Writer
to support our strategic and growth market initiatives. This position will be intimately involved with pursuits across the full continuum of the Business Development (BD)/ Capture/ Proposal process. The position will report to the Director of Proposals and will play an integral role in executing MORI's strategic growth initiatives.
Location:
This position is a remote hire with the opportunity to work from home.
An applicant located in Hampton Roads, VA (Southside or Peninsula) or the National Capital Region is preferred.
There will be an occasional requirement to travel to MORI Associates Headquarters in Rockville, MD, to MORI's regional offices in Houston, TX or Pasadena, CA, or to other client and teammate sites for proposal team meetings. Applicants in proximity to NASA/JPL Centers may also be considered. Incumbent will be issued a company laptop and associated accessories.
Duties and Responsibilities: Perform assigned tasks associated with BD and Capture such as Requests for Information, data calls, teaming deliberations, Value Pitch decks, etc. Help track and manage MORI's required suspense dates for proposal related deliverables Develop and write persuasive technical content for proposals and white papers, and engaging messaging for internal communications (executive communications, company announcements, all-hands, intranet), and external communications (social media, marketing deliverables, press releases, website updates, blog posts, public relations) Review and copy edit content provided by SMEs and partners Conduct research, facilitate interviews with SMEs, company leaders and partners to develop proposal Provide copy editing, proofreading, and final reviews for proposals and other deliverables Provide support/guidance to the proposal development team in all areas, particularly compliance, readability, quality, and messaging Edit content to streamline prose, improve focus, sharpen structure, and reduce word count (one-voice or technical edit) Support Content Library initiatives to include uploading reusable content, editing archived content for future use, and consolidating files/folder structures for more efficient access Act as the primary POC and liaison with proposal consultants during content development and writing phases of the Bid process Desired Experience:
5+ years' technical writing experience on a proposal team in pursuit of federal contracts Knowledge of NASA and USSF is desirable Experience with Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering and/or Media and Communications is desirable Completion of an industry-recognized Federal proposal writing or proposal management course of instruction is a plus Experience using generative AI and LLM's for Growth use cases Capability:
Excellent writing skills, high level of motivation Able to work well individually as well as collaboratively in a team environment Self-initiation and flexibility to occasionally adjust workday to requirements of federal clients, teammates, and MORI leaders across several time zones Strong skills working with both internal and external proposal resources Ability to manage more than one proposal effort simultaneously, in a fast-moving environment Ability to develop and incorporate figures and graphics with written content Ability to plan and prioritize; effective time management Able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing Technical Proficiency:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Google Docs development and maintenance Familiarity with the following online tools: DelTek GovWin IQ, System for Award Management (SAM), GSA E-library, Familiarity with online collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams Education Requirements:
Baccalaureate Degree (unless offset by a significant track record of experience) Salary Range is : $60K to $80K
