DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The ASCPL is hiring a full-time Marketing Assistant (working 37.5 hours per week) to support our Mission Statement to provide resources for learning and leisure, information services, meeting spaces, and programs for all ages that support, improve, and enrich individual, family, and community life. The Marketing Assistant performs a variety of duties related to the Library's marketing function associated with coordinating the production of materials and the department's production traffic workflow, with duties including: Proofreading creative content for all publications and digital platforms. Establishing, scheduling, and monitoring workflows for content production. Providing Marketing Communications-related project status tracking and helping to ensure fulfillment. Prioritizing tasks and managing responsibilities during both high-demand and slower periods. Gathering price quotes from external vendors. Providing creative content and submitting purchase orders to external vendors. Performing a variety of recordkeeping and filing tasks. Under guidance from the Marketing Communications Director and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures, serving as point of contact for requests for distribution of non-Library materials. Ordering and maintaining office supplies. Scheduling service calls. Performing other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Required:

Some college coursework or Associate's degree in English, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field is required. Knowledge of creative content production and marketing principles and practices. Skill in records and project administration. Skill in copy writing and editing. Skill in customer service. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to plan and complete projects and assignments with multiple deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. Understanding of the principles of intellectual freedom. Ability to use a computer and job-related software or systems applicable to the essential functions of the job. Ability to lift light objects (less than 25 pounds) and carry them short distances (50 feet or less). Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Ability to pass criminal background and education verification checks.

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree. 2 or more years is preferred in non-profit, public sector, or cultural institution marketing.
