In the role of Water Resources Design Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
* Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state, and local municipalities. * Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations. * Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues, and non-point source loading and point source design. Additional projects could include coastal resiliency, and water/wastewater design. * Produce design calculations, draft technical reports, and perform water resources studies. * Project coordination: project and quality management plan development, updating project metrics, project controls, project documentation, and safety planning and documentation. * Writing technical reports: this could include master plans, alternative analyses for rural communities in Alaska, design reports, and technical memoranda. * Preparation of construction documents: Developing plans in Civil3D, working with standard specifications and writing specials, and developing quantities and cost estimates from historical bids. * Conduct urban and remote fieldwork: single day to two-week trips, fieldwork can include client and stakeholder engagement as well as long days in the wilderness. * Construction site support and observations. * Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
* Engineer-in-Training or ability to acquire within 6 months. * Experience with AutoCAD C3D, HEC-RAS 1 or 2 D, XPSWMM. * Proven technical writing and communication skills. * Positive attitude and willingness to support a large variety of projects. * Experience and ability to conduct fieldwork safely. * Interest or experience designing water/wastewater treatment facilities, stormwater systems, and/or coastal protection

Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent field * Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite, standard CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, and hydraulic modeling software * Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to completion of task * An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
