We have an exciting opportunity to join Warwick Hotels and Resorts as Director of Sales and Marketing at our Warwick Denver location. Warwick Denver is a 216-key hotel equipped with large fitness center, rooftop pool, the newly renovated Italian American eatery Gattara, and two dedicated floors of meeting and event space. Offering such great amenities and located within a short distance of many of Denver's best downtown attractions, Warwick Denver is well-positioned for leisure, business, and government travelers alike.
The ideal candidate for Director Sales and Marketing will have at least two years of Director of Sales and Marketing experience within a hotel environment, or at least three years in a hotel sales leadership role. Experience in each stage of sourcing, qualifying, booking, and seeing through to completion for both Groups business and Banquet and Catering business will be very important. Essential duties include, but are not limited to: Demonstrate and promote the best possible experience for our guests and employees. Perform as the driver of all revenue and ensure quarterly and annual revenue goals are achieved for the hotel. Develop sales action plans, and forecast and evaluate trends to modify strategies that will enhance revenues effectively. Establish and maintain positive business and customer relationships, with a service-oriented approach. Research, understand, and keep yourself up-to-date with industry and local competitive landscape knowledge. This includes information about citywide events or other large group bookings which may affect the hotel. Positively manage the sales team and all sales and marketing efforts. Personally source, qualify, and book new business for the hotel. Responding to RFPs and other inquiries. Show a desire to continually drive new business in a creative manner, never settling for less than our targeted goals. To succeed in this position, you must be "hungry" for the success of the hotel, the team which reports to you, and yourself in the role of Director of Sales and Marketing. This position will report to the General Manager and is a member of the Executive team.
Qualifications
A minimum of two years in a similar role as Director of Sales and Marketing within a hotel environment. Colorado, and specifically Denver, experience is preferred, but other candidates will be considered. Experience managing and motivating other Sales team members as direct reports. A true desire to satisfy the needs of others. Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times. Possess excellent presentation, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Computer literacy to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to comprehend, read, write and speak English fluently.
