WLWT-TV, the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati, has an opening for a full-time experienced Production Manager. Our Production Manager directs weekend morning newscasts and executes all technical aspects of the production with the producer, technical director, audio operator, camera operator, and studio production assistants. During the week, the Production manager’s duties include floor directing, operating Teleprompter, and supervising and training the part-time production assistant staff. You will report to the Sr Newscast Director.

Responsibilities

  • Direct broadcast newscasts
  • Provide creative input and will work with the newscast producer and production crew
  • Be responsible for clean technical execution of the look of the newscast
  • Experience with ENPS, Vizrt graphics and Bitcentral video playback will be helpful
  • Supervise and train Production Assistants
  • Floor direct and run Teleprompter as scheduled
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • 2+ years television production experience  
  • Experience with production switchers, video servers, and audio and studio equipment
  • Understanding of newsroom systems, ENPS, and video playback systems
  • MOS and basic computer network understanding
  • Technical knowledge to resolve existing issues and to work around problems that arise during live news
  • Must be willing to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and fill in during holidays and vacations.
  • Must be able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Supervisory position - strong leadership skills, effective communicator, positive attitude
  • Related military experience will be considered
  • In-person attendance is required
