ENERCON's Nuclear Services Group is looking for a Designer onsite at Crane Clean Energy Center (formerly TMI 1) in Middletown, PA. If you are ready to make a meaningful impact and shape the future of engineering, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities
This role involves creating detailed and accurate design drawings for complex projects, including mechanical, electrical, and structural systems, with a focus on nuclear power plant installations. You'll collaborate with engineers, perform on-site walkdowns, and ensure compliance with safety and procedural standards. Additionally, you'll review designs, mentor team members, and contribute to high-quality deliverables through proactive self-checks and problem-solving. Other daily activities may include: Prepare accurate layout and detail drawings of parts, assemblies, and related items on non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity
Support engineers with any changes to drawings Perform support design for installation in nuclear power plants Prepare design drawings, including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, structural/civil, or instrumentation & controls drawings Perform walkdowns at Nuclear Power Plants and generate walkdown reports Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies, and directives Conduct self-checks of created drawings, sketches, and related data to proactively identify factors that may negatively affect final product May review the work of other designers/drafters and provide mentoring and leadership Work independently of engineers but confer with engineers and other designers for design concept interpretation Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in related field, typically has 4 years of design experience or Associate's Degree with typically a minimum 8 years of experience Ability to learn and effectively utilize new design software programs Nuclear Power Plant experience required Ability to utilize 2D applications to prepare engineering drawings Advanced knowledge in the practices of an engineering discipline; competent in the fundamental concepts of other disciplines as they relate to the assigned discipline Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of codes, standards, criteria, and design execution pertinent to various aspects of design Advanced knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD and MicroStation 3D experience is a plus in one or more of the following software: Plant3D, SmartPlant, Solidworks, Inventor, and/or Revit Must be able to get badged at a nuclear facility Must be able to perform plant walkdowns This position offers per diem for non local candidates. #LI-MB1 Additional Information
