Job Summary: As the
Drafting Team Lead , you will oversee and mentor a talented group of drafters to ensure the successful completion of all drafting projects. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy in our design documents while fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. Your leadership will play a key role in managing projects, ensuring resource allocation, and supporting team development.
Drafting Team Leader Job Description Wallace Architects, LLC, Drafting Team Leaders match the production output needs of their Drafting Team with the support Drafting Technicians on or available to their Team.
Reports to: Operations Director
In addition to the daily duties of a Drafting Technician, a Drafting Team Leader’s typical day may also include the following:
· Organize with Project Managers and Project Coordinators regarding project Drawing development deadlines and priorities · Lead and mentor Drafting Technicians on my Team – organize and delegate projects and tasks to my Team · Provide technical training and guidance to the Drafting Technicians on their team. BIM Manager is to assist, as necessary, for Revit related training · Attend all internal Project kick-off Team Meetings for my Team · Lead, organize, and/or assist other Drafting Team Leaders and the BIM Manager with Monthly Drafters Meetings when asked by the BIM Manager · Participate in the Monthly Drafting Team Leader meetings (generally the 2nd or 3rd Thursday before the monthly Management Meeting on the 2nd or 3rd Friday of the month) · Report to the Operations Director any organizational, non-technical issues of my Drafting Team requiring attention of the Operations Director and/or HR/Management · Report to the BIM Manager any Revit related technical issues of my Drafting Team requiring attention of the BIM Manager · Review annual goals of Drafting Technicians for my Team and lead the mid-year and end of year JPR reviews of Drafting Technicians on my Team with the Operations Director · Review and approve timesheets of Drafting Technicians on my Team · Schedule and endorse vacation requests of Drafting Technicians on my Team · Additional responsibilities may include – 1. filing and digital archiving of renderings, 2. Leading the daily Drafters’ meeting with daily e-mailed meeting note distribution delegation
Qualifications: · In addition to the Qualifications of a Drafting Technician, a Drafting Team Leader should possess the following additional Qualifications. · Demonstrate mastery of the BIM standards consistent with Wallace best practices and SOP for my Drafting Team as established by the BIM Manager · Learn and successfully apply Company, Client, and project standards and procedures for my Drafting Team
