Intentional Futures is an idea-to-impact consultancy. We are a firm of researchers, strategists and designers that work on complex issues with corporations, nonprofits, and family foundations, and are looking to hire a full-time Mid-level or Senior Graphic Designer to join our in-house team.

Role Description We are looking for a Graphic Designer with 2+ years experience in a client-based design agency, studio or consultancy. A successful iF Visual Designer aids in the conceptualization and production of design deliverables across a wide variety of client and internal projects. The majority of these projects are research and strategy-led, with design serving to depict complex frameworks, tell stories and outline strategies in clear and compelling ways. Designers at iF work alongside strategists within project teams, and it’s typical for a designer to be on multiple projects at a time, meaning a certain amount of agency and flexibility is needed to work across a variety of subject matter. This position is on site in our Seattle office and reports to the Creative Director. Currently, our employees enjoy a hybrid work environment, where they are given the option to work from home, with select required in-person days for all company events and pending project and /or team needs. Given the timing of this post, it is likely we will not begin the recruitment process in earnest until the start of the new year. Thank you for your patience.
Role and Responsibilities Collaborate with iF Strategists on the design and production of client-facing and internal deliverables including (but not limited to):
Designed documents, reports and presentations Infographics, data visualizations, diagrams, frameworks and illustrations which communicate complex, multi-layered strategic concepts. Presentations and templates in PowerPoint/Google Slides/Word/Google Doc Workshop and presentation materials (activity assets both analogue and digital, event/workshop posters, environmental graphics, etc.) Client or project-specific visual identities and palettes Website layouts (we typically work on UX graphic content, not on site/app building, which we either partner with or hand over to clients to manage) Marketing graphics for iF Case Studies, blog post graphics, internal company workshops, iF all-hands yearly meetings, and holiday gift swag.
Assets are mostly digital, but we do a small amount of printed deliverables throughout the year, so rudimentary print & production experience is welcomed but not required.
Work closely with other members of the design team to manage and maintain existing visual design assets Help to revamp and templatize internal assets Review pre-press materials and place orders with print shops Play an instrumental role in growing iF's design capabilities
Basic Qualifications Must have 2+ years of experience as a graphic designer in a client-based agency or consultancy setting. Must have excellent framing and envisioning skills, able to proactively advise iF teams and our clients on design direction possibilities, pros/cons of each, and show tangible examples for clients who often have limited experience working with designers. Designers are expected to move between many different subject matter areas and need to be comfortable with getting up to speed quickly so they can fit design direction and styles to a wide range of client and project types. Command of design fundamentals (typography, layout, composition, info-graphic & data visualization, visual communication, etc.)Excellent attention to detail Proficiency with Figma (or comparable UX tools like Sketch or AdobeXD) Proficiency with Google Slides, PowerPoint, and Word Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign Experience using AI-generated content/imagery AfterEffects/animation/motion experience and/or illustration skills are a plus Good time management and organizational skills Please Note: this is not a UX design position. While iF does sometimes engage in Interaction Design and UX work, this role will primarily be as Graphic Designer for the deliverable types listed above. Salary, Benefits, & Additional Information At Intentional Futures, we conduct iterative and extensive market research to learn what is considered a competitive salary for each of our roles. However, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. With this context in mind, the salary range for this role is $62,500.00-$82,500.00 annually as well as potential for an annual bonus based on performance. Along with this, iF offers a benefits package that includes: Healthcare coverage including domestic partner benefits Flexible Spending and Dependent Care Account options Life insurance Short-term disability coverage Paid parental and adoption leave 4% 401K match Paid time off Learning and Development Resources Subsidized ORCA Card Our staff are currently working from home full-time, but the ability to travel to our Seattle-based office is preferred, but we are not able to offer relocation packages. The preferred candidates will be someone who lives in the greater Seattle area or is willing to relocate, but we are open to candidates from other regions as well. iF cannot offer work visa sponsorship at this time.
