Technical Writer - Architect
for a
contract
position with one of our direct clients based out in
Dallas, TX (Hybrid 3 days/week onsite).
Pay Rate Range: $50-55/hr. On w2
(The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Key Roles & Responsibilities This position is responsible for creating, maintaining, and enhancing documentation related to policies, guidelines, and procedures across various infrastructure, network, application, cloud, and security functions to ensure that teams have clear, accessible, and up-to-date resources that facilitate effective communication and adherence to best practices. This resource will be part of the Enterprise Architecture team within the Digital Grid Assurance Organization in Technology. The role requires strong documentation, written and oral communication, and analytical skills to ensure the client has the right materials to be successful.
This position encompasses the following responsibilities directly or through others: Collaborate with enterprise architects and cross-functional teams to gather information on policies, guidelines, and procedures Create clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation, including but not limited to: Technical manuals Process documentation Policy guidelines Standard operating procedures (SOPs) Project Related Templates & Documentation (e.g. High-Level Designs, Low-Level Designs, etc.) Ensure all documentation is consistent in style, format, and terminology, adhering to company standards and industry best practices Organize and maintain a centralized repository for all technical documentation, ensuring easy access and version control Conduct regular reviews and updates of documentation to reflect changes in processes, technologies, and policies Assist in the development of training materials and presentations to support resource onboarding and ongoing education Collaborate with subject matter experts to clarify complex information and ensure accuracy Utilize various tools and software for documentation purposes (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite) Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions to improve documentation processes and knowledge sharing
Experience, Qualifications, & Skill Requirements Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field 3+ years of experience as a technical writer, preferably in an enterprise architecture or IT environment Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles, cloud computing, and security practices Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with an ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely Proficient in documentation tools and content management systems Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with Agile methodologies and project management principles is a plus Great written and oral communication, interpersonal, documentation, and presentation skills
Measures of Success Ability to simplify complex information into digestible, easy-to-understand language Clarity and conciseness of written materials along with consistency in style, format, and terminology across all documents Adherence to timelines for documentation delivery and the ability to update documents promptly Maintenance of an organized and accessible documentation repository with clear version control
