What You’ll Do As a CAD Engineer, you will support the engineering team prior to system installation and project management during project closeout. You will be responsible for the creation of complete, detailed system schematics, elevations, and site plans for use during system installation. You will utilize the high-level system design sketches, manufacturer documentation, and industry standards to complete the installation documentation. In addition, you will act as a check on the design by validating interconnects, device quantities, and other elements of the design align.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities ·Convert high-level design sketches to complete, detailed system installation documentation · Develop blocks and other CAD resources, to departmental standards, to use in documentation · Update architecture/construction plans with AV system infrastructure requirements · Convert red-lines/markups from field into final as-built documents · Export cable labels and other data from documentation for use by delivery teams · Develop/Update dynamic blocks, macros, and automations to increase efficiency

What We Are Looking For Must-Haves · Minimum two (2) years of demonstrated CAD experience or training · Ability to review and comprehend construction prints · Ability to review and comprehend statements of work, submittal documents, cut sheets and/or consultant specifications. · Ability to work and think independently to meet deadlines and delivery requirements · Strong interpersonal communication skills · Strong work ethic ·Business and technical writing skills · Proficiency with AutoCAD

Nice-to-Haves · Formal education or certifications related to drafting · AVIXA CTS · Experience with AV/IT system installation/design · Basic electricity/electronics background/education. · Understanding of mechanical equipment drawings.
