Qualifications - Lead AV Technician
Prefer 2+ years’ experience as Lead Technician in ultra high-end custom home AV integration projects with brands like Crestron, Savant, Lutron, and Control4. In-depth knowledge of industry codes, regulations and best practices to network and troubleshoot complex audio, video, telecommunications, and home automation systems with the capability to configure networks, routers, switches, and IP addresses with VLAN, STP, and IP schematic knowledge plusses. Understand the construction process and timelines to effectively manage GC and other trade communications to ensure efficient projects. Ability to effectively lead, schedule, and mentor less experienced technicians with the heart of a teacher. Available to travel for projects approximately 5 weeks per year with return home for weekends. VOIP, AOIP, and experience terminating fiber are plusses.
Key Functions - Lead AV Technician
Every day is different with the bulk of your time spent on new audio, visual and home automation projects, or upgrades, with periodic service work. Use onsite surveys to learn existing systems, review plans and scope of work to understand what needs to be done and to identify any changes or discrepancies to plans. Project work includes everything from terminations to installing/hanging equipment to integrating and configuring systems. Leading, training, and mentoring less experienced technicians is a key component of this role. 6 to 7 week on-call rotation, mostly quick remote fixes, with overtime pay for any onsite assistance.
