Job Summary:
The Graphic Designer will work within Oklahoma State University's Office of Brand Management and utilize skills in design to visually communicate the brand and help implement OSU's strategic marketing and communications plan which includes improving recruitment, retention and reputation management.
This individual will enhance OSU's brand awareness among prospective students and their families, current students, employees, alumni, donors and other internal and external populations their graphic design work. Additionally, they will contribute to key institutional publications including advertisements, print pieces, digital marketing assets and magazines.
Brand Management's Graphic Designer must have a strong grasp of design, layout, typography, and ability to contribute to creative processes from concept to execution. This position is responsible for maintaining relationships within the OSU Office of Brand Management, supporting teams such as content writers, editors, advertising, web developers and programmers, videographers and recruitment marketers, as well as outside agencies and consultants, and communicators across the OSU system.
This individual is expected to design eye-catching concepts and layouts that showcase OSU and adhere to university brand standards. We are seeking someone who demonstrates self-direction, creativity and strategic thinking when contributing to projects and thrives in a collaborative team environment.
Work outside of normal office hours required as necessary to ensure completion of projects. Some travel may be necessary for professional development
Brand Management graphic designers must be able to work a 40 hour work week, sitting or standing at their desk and be able to look at computer screens for extended periods of time.

Our areas of expertise include media relations, crisis communications, internal/external messaging, branding, advertising, recruitment communications, visual media, digital strategy and more. Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma/GED and four years of work-related experience
OR
Two years of post-secondary education in appropriate field and two years of work-related experience
OR
Bachelor's degree in appropriate field.
Competency in use of Adobe products (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat). Knowledge of printing, graphic design, illustration and graphic communication, including page layout and illustration. Experience in a Mac OSX environment.
Advanced knowledge of computer design, illustration and personal publishing systems required. Ability to work cross-functionally with supervisors, unit staff and campus partners to ensure collaborative environment, coordinated efforts and maximized outcomes. Must learn quickly and demonstrate flexibility in the work environment. Exhibit strong attention to detail as well as the ability to effectively manage multiple assignments with different priorities and tight deadlines. Demonstrate creativity, integrity and passion for growing the brand of Oklahoma State University.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Commercial Art, Visual Design or a related field.
Three years of work-related experience. Competency in use of graphics software on personal computers. Competency in electronic publishing and computer illustration/photo manipulation.
Competency in typography, color use, and principles of design.
