What you’ll do at LinkedIn

Partner closely with design and product colleagues to understand business needs, and design appropriate research studies to generate user-focused insights that directly inform product and design roadmaps and decisions.

Break down complex business challenges into clear research plans; own the end to end research process and leverage strong storytelling skills to deliver meaningful impact to the business.

Work in partnership with other researchers and other research functions within LinkedIn (e.g., data science, market research) to create comprehensive and coordinated research strategies that triangulate data from different sources/methods to develop recommendations and POV docs.

Deliver compelling research findings with clear recommendations.

Advocate for the role of Research as a strategic partner in the business process.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of experience in user or design research at a high growth technology company.

Expertise utilizing a variety of qualitative research methodologies (e.g. interviews, focus groups, co-design sessions, concept testing) to address product challenges spanning from opportunity identification, concept testing, to feature iterations.

A proven track record of gaining buy-in from executive stakeholders and cross disciplinary partners, transcending mere research mechanics and findings to articulate a larger user story, and the “so what” to drive impact.

Ability to independently create and execute research roadmaps for large-scale, complex projects with high levels of ambiguity or complexity.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency in quantitative research methodologies (e.g. surveys, data analysis) and tools (e.g. SQL, SPSS, R), seamlessly tying quantitative data to qualitative insights.

Consistent experience of amplifying and maturing UX practices through advocacy and thought leadership across an organization, industry, or academic discipline.

Deep understanding of common and emerging research methods, with the ability to create multi-method research plans backed by solid rationale.

Degree in Behavioral Science, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, a related field – or equivalent experience.

3+ years in product design, human centered design, user centric product management and/or product development.

The pay range for this role is $146,000 to $238,000. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
