Summary of Position

The Senior Director of Marketing - Oncology is responsible for the planning and execution of marketing strategies and tactics specifically designed for the hospital setting, focused primarily on Oncologists. Further, the role will be key in building and maintaining relationships with Oncology Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) treating prostate cancer. The Senior Director of Marketing - Oncology will also need to understand the clinical data, patient journey, and customer needs, significantly contribute to commercial cross-functional teams, and will lead the promotional review of marketing tactics germane to the Oncology specialty.

Essential Functions

  • Determine brand strategy, positioning, messaging, and corresponding promotional tactics
  • Drive business insights (through market research and competitive intelligence) that lead to a clear understanding of existing and future market dynamics
  • Develop and execute an integrated annual brand plan
  • Work with Commercial Operations in ROI measurement plan to assess impact of key tactics on sales growth
  • Optimize annual budgets and other resources
  • Foster strong partnerships with Sales leadership, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Regulatory and Legal to ensure aligned objectives
  • Ensure effective and compliant creation of brand resources by collaborating with the Medical, Legal, and Compliance Teams
  • Manage and attend key congresses and professional and patient meetings
  • Support sales organization including field travel
  • Must maintain operational compliance with US and international regulatory agencies and guidelines (i.e. FDA, EU, HC, TGA, PIC/S, ISO, USP, NRC, cGMP, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related medical or scientific field required
  • 12 or more years of relevant work experience with 5 or more years of pharmaceutical marketing experience in Oncology, including launch experience
  • Strong Oncology KOL relationships
  • Effective at working collaboratively on teams
  • Experience effectively executing a wide range of personal and non-personal tactics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid business and financial acumen
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Open to remote candidates, with willingness to travel to St. Louis one week per month.

  • Must be able to work outside of regular work hours.
  • Up to 25% travel required
  • Remote work acceptable with frequent trips to the St. Louis office
