Vanguard Fire & Security Systems, Inc. is looking for a Fire Sprinkler Designer to prepare layouts for sprinkler systems, detail drawings, calculations, and sketches. Detail all views for field teams to complete projects efficiently.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Design fire protection sprinkler systems, fire pumps, tanks , wet, dry and deluge systems

Use AutoCad to develop shop drawings, equipment lists with a focus on applicable NFPA and local code compliance, project specifications and contract documents

Complete accurate field surveys and communication with contractors and subcontractors to gather documentation

Coordinate shop drawings with the engineering team and field technicians

Develop submittal packages for contractors and authorities having jurisdiction

Obtain all required approvals

Qualifications:

NICET certifications are preferred

Ability to read and interpret construction documents, drawings, and project specifications

Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude

Proficiency with AutoCAD or HydraCAD is preferred

Working knowledge of mechanical design, equipment configuration, and project management

Familiarity with general construction practices and terms

Working knowledge of NFPA codes
