JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Marketing is an innovative individual with a proven track record in content creation, digital strategy, and multi-platform storytelling. This role is instrumental in driving engagement and growth by leveraging creative marketing campaigns, project management expertise, and a passion for social impact. Under the guidance of the VP of Marketing, this role will support the strategic plan and execute marketing plans that deliver measurable results.

Our organization is made up of two brands, HRA and St. Hubert's (part of HRA). The Director of Marketing manages and mentors a team of 2 social media specialists, one St. Huberts (New Jersey) and one at HRA (DC based).

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support VP's marketing strategy through content creation across multiple channels for impact and support success of KPI's.
  • Act as thought leader in digital and content marketing trends, bringing innovative ideas to the table.
  • Act as HRA marketing dept representative in DC, occasionally making public appearances in media on behalf of HRA.
  • Partner with Humane Law Enforcement team and create stories (video/articles) for awareness and fundraising.
  • Oversee the development and execution of multi-platform campaigns, including social media, email newsletters, video and web content, working cross-functionally to ensure cohesive brand messaging and consistency.
  • Manage day to day digital efforts including web updates.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure alignment of marketing efforts and organizational roles.
  • Evaluate the performance of marketing campaigns, utilizing data-driven insights to optimize strategies.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships and relationships with external stakeholders and vendors.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in marketing and incorporate relevant insights.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Regularly sits at a computer station and operates electronic equipment.
  • Ability to be comfortable working with cats, dogs, small animals, reptiles, fish and wildlife.
  • Due to nature of shelter work, may be exposed to deceased, fractious, or aggressive animals; hostile or irate persons; zoonotic or other diseases; unpleasant noises, odors, or sights; and extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to manage emotional aspect of work in an animal welfare environment in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to respond to limited emergency site-wide outages after hours.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, or related field.
  • Previous experience (10+) in marketing role, content creation and managing staff.
  • Experience in video production, including interviewing, scripting and editing.
  • Prior animal welfare experience is a plus.
