Job Summary 

Join our dynamic Marketing Team at UnCruise and be our guru of visual storytelling. We're looking for a talented and motivated Junior Graphic Designer to assist in bringing our brand to life. This role requires a highly positive attitude with a pro-active approach to problem solving, the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and a high sense of accountability. This person will also own creative asset management and will work closely with the marketing creative team members to understand project requirements and deliver visually compelling content. This role brings UCA to life thought high-quality and engaging visuals. This role reports to the Marketing Lead.

Asset Management

  • Evaluate current asset platforms, bring options to keep or launch new platforms for DAM and ensure backup of all visual assets
  • Create and maintain easy search and download for employees and agency partner asset needs
  • Edit and retouch photos/video to align with our brand guidelines
  • Organize, meta tag, catalog, and maintain a library of photo and video assets
  • Manage weekly cruise photo deliveries and ensure guests are delivered assets from their voyage
  • Mine assets to keep from weekly voyages and run through above process to add to library
  • Contribute fresh ideas and innovative design solutions to enhance our visual communications
  • Identify asset needs and create shot lists for photographer and videographers
  • Other special projects or duties as required

Graphic Design

  • Work with marketing team to come up with campaigns and concepts
  • Create vision boards for approval for campaigns, keep campaigns visually consistent through execution
  • Create visually appealing graphics for digital and print media, including social media posts, website banners, and emails and other promotional materials
  • Assist in editing short form video content for social media and other various platforms
  • Work with copy writer to come up with social media schedule a minimum of two weeks out
  • Package social media, email signatures, press releases, flyers, etc., for agency partner bi-weekly delivery
  • Work with team to ensure up to date internal assets such as maps and vessel deck plans
  • Work with printer to create eco-responsible and visually stunning print collateral
  • Execute best practices for tagging and sizing images for website, social and other digital projects for best SEO and fast load times
  • Work with other team members as part of the proofing process, this includes copy and pricing
  • Other special projects or duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in or equivalent work experience in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field
  • Understanding and fortitude to refresh, police and defend the brand and brand standards
  • Strong understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other creative platforms
  • Understanding of paper, coatings and print format layouts for brochures, mailers and print collateral
  • Basic video editing skills and familiarity with video editing software a plus
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take direction
  • Elevated communication skills dealing with multiple medias both internally and externally
  • Extra consideration for individuals with travel/hospitality experience

Physical Demands / Work Environment

  • Typical office environment. Position may require bending, climbing, reaching, repetitive motion, and lifting.
  • Occasional work on board vessels locally or potentially in remote locations. May require climbing a gangway or ladder and navigating a vessel under construction.

Work Schedule

Standard in-office hours are 8am-5pm PST, Monday through Friday. Hybrid schedule can be discussed after the first 90 days. Occasional weekend hours and travel as needed.

  • Base Pay - $28.85 - 33.65 per hour, non-exempt
