The Role: Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel

We are seeking an experienced Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel to join one of our esteemed clients. This position offers the chance to provide strategic legal guidance on marketing and advertising initiatives across a variety of industries, navigating complex regulatory frameworks while contributing to innovative campaigns.

In this role, you will:

• Advise on Compliance: Counsel clients on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns to ensure compliance with state, federal, and international laws.
• Draft and Negotiate Agreements: Prepare agreements for ad agencies, influencers, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, and online media buying.
• Ensure Compliance: Review advertising content for compliance with laws related to false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and publicity rights.
• Guide Marketing Strategies: Provide legal counsel on contests, sweepstakes, loyalty programs, subscription models, and pricing strategies.
• Support Legal Defense: Represent clients in disputes involving false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with:

• Experience: At least seven years of experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, or marketing transactions.
• Educational Background: A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
• Skills: Exceptional legal writing, communication, and attention to detail.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a large or medium law firm and hybrid work availability. Admission to the Washington State Bar is preferred but not required.
