Choate Rosemary Hall has an immediate opening for a per diem Audio-Visual Technician for the Paul Mellon Arts Center and Colony Hall. The A.V. Technician is responsible for supporting the production of external events and/or on-campus events when scheduled and will work in collaboration with the various internal colleagues. The position reports to the Director of the Arts.
The Paul Mellon Arts Center is a 760-seat venue and Colony Hall is a 1,100 seat venue that serve both the school and surrounding community by providing an academic-year season that includes student productions, a variety of concerts, and guest artist events. Both facilities also serve the school community as a weekly meeting space, as well as a venue for other school events including several special speaker programs.

Job duties:
- Manage & operate the audio and video technical needs and equipment for scheduled events
- Collaborate with the Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director on maintaining all audio and video equipment of the School
- Communicate with the presenters to discuss details such as call time, tech and media needs, and other tech specific information and share that with various internal colleagues as appropriate
- Experience and working knowledge of digital consoles, wired and wireless mics and intercom, large format projectors and digital control systems such as Crestron.
- A background in live sound engineering.
- A working knowledge of ETC lighting consoles is preferred.
- Experience hanging and focusing lights, rigging, and handling other theatrical equipment, including working at heights
- Bachelor's degree in theater and/or 3-5 years of professional experience in the field
- Physical demands for this position require the ability to remain standing for extended periods of time and lift/push objects up to 50lbs. without assistance.
