Primary role objective and job summary

Effectively manage the overall scope of work, installation, testing, communication and completion of assigned medium to large commercial AV projects. All installations must meet the highest quality standards set forth by CoitCom and our client, as well as assuring a professional and safe working environment in the most efficient and effective manner.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·       Manage medium to large commercial AV systems integration projects to achieve time, scope, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction requirements. 

·       Complete projects within assigned budget.

·       Direct all personnel and daily tasks/activities on project site.

·       Read and understand documents for each assigned project including, but not limited to project scopes of work, bid drawings and specifications, contract, subcontractor scopes of work, and construction schedules.

·       Facilitate internal project kick-off meetings that include key participants from sales, engineering, fabrication, installation and programming departments.

·       Attend weekly or biweekly internal CoitCom meetings at both job sites and/or office. 

·       Attend weekly or biweekly client/external OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) meetings at both job sites and/or office. 

·       Manage client and project team member expectations with clear and concise written documented communications. 

·       Create and manage the project schedule and coordinate appropriate resources for all assigned projects. 

·       Point of contact for all internal and external project communication and documentation for the life of the project. 

·       Provide weekly job progress reports to all internal and external stakeholders.

·       Acquire daily site end of day progress reports from Foreman/Lead technicians and respond to needs identified.

·       Coordinate equipment distribution and shipping to meet project timelines.

·       Manage all internal and external project change orders. 

·       Work with Install Manager to ensure work performed by technicians on each assigned job meets quality standards.

·       Ensure clients receive appropriate training on all installed systems. 

·       Create and maintain all project related documentation in accordance with company guidelines.

·       Travel to various job sites is required.

·       Create quotes and walk jobsites for clients as needed.

·       Other duties as required or assigned by company management.

 

Qualifications:

·       Minimum of two years of experience as a A/V Project Manager or three years similar experience outside of CoitCom.

·       Minimum of four years of audio-visual integration experience preferred.

·       Experience managing multiple complex, multi-phase projects preferred. 

·       Valid and current CTS certification.

·       Valid and current and CAPM/PMP certification is preferred.

·       Possess strategic thinking and structured problem-solving skills. 

·       Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down CoitCom’s organization.

·       Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.

·       Valid Driver’s License.

•      Understand technical and construction documents.

•      Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Project and Adobe Acrobat.


Travel:

•      Some out-of-town travel required.

 

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

•      The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

•      Frequently required to stand; walk; reach and grasp with fingers, hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

•      The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

•      Climb ladders up to 12 feet tall and able to work in small spaces and on uneven surfaces.

•      Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.

·       Experience managing Installation Technician teams in the Audio Visual, Construction, Technology (Structured Cabling / Security) or related industry.

·       Proven ability to mentor, educate, and develop members of the team.

·       Exceptional strategic thinking and structured problem-solving skills.

·       OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course.

·       OSHA 30-Hour Construction Cours preferred.

·       Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized.

·       Valid Driver’s License and a Department of Motor Vehicle record that meets CoitCom’s driving privileges standards.
