Overview

SOS International, LLC (SOSi) is currently seeking an experienced Broadcast Maintenance Specialist to join our team in Fort Meade, MD in support of our customer in IT, Engineering & Logistics.

Essential Job Duties

  • Installation and maintenance of Radio & TV Broadcast as well as Audio/visual equipment.
  • Thorough knowledge or extensive experience in all aspects of electronic communications, broadcast engineering, broadcast network information technology (IT), technical support and logistics in support of radio, television, satellite, microwave, still photography, live streaming and other visual information systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of analog/digital audio, video, satellite, CATV headend, IPTV and RF systems. Analog/digital signal transmission, reception, distribution, recording, non-linear editing systems, digital video surveillance security system.
  • Designs, integrates and establishes operating criteria for radio and TV studios, classrooms and conference rooms.
  • Programming and configuration of broadcast systems including Routing Switchers, Intercom systems, Master router, audio mixers, video switchers, room automation, BE AudioVault and video server systems.
  • Support engineering operations of video teleconference equipment (VTC).
  • Technical support of internal ceremonies, retirements, and competitions.
  • Generate, maintain/modify broadcast systems drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • Candidate must possess or be eligible for favorable T1 (NACI, national Agency Check) investigation.
  • 5 years of similar experience related to Broadcast electronic Maintenance.
  • Knowledge and ability to provide all facets of support (analyze, install, diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain) to include radio and television studios and control rooms, conference room systems (Video Teleconferencing (VTC) systems, control automations equipment), RF transmission systems and other visual information systems, broadcast networking IT.
  • Knowledge of SMPTE, FCC, IEEE and ATSC standards as they relate to analog and digital audio and video signals used in broadcast applications.
  • Hands on knowledge of AutoCAD (2D and schematic drawings).
  • Knowledge of associated Test, Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE).
  • Skilled in written and oral communication to include technical subject matter.
  • Able to communicate effectively with internal and/or external customers to advise on and/or resolve issues with audio/visual hardware and/or software.
  • Able to handle, lift and carry equipment up to 50lbs, climb ladder up to 12ft high.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferable certifications/licenses from FCC, SBE, CTS and COMPTIA.
  • Hands on knowledge of TV/radio studios equipment, i.e. Broadcast Electronics AudioVault, Wheatstone radio console, Crestron, BiAmp, Ross video switchers, Harris Netwave, Chyron GC, Evertz master clock, Probel master router, etc.
Work Environment
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
  • Deadline-oriented environment.
  • Occasionally may require periods of non-traditional working hours including nights or weekends.
