Member Communication Representative I

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Act as a point-person for all member emails and chats by preparing personalized and professional email and chat responses in a timely manner. This includes the Member Service email inbox and the "Contact Us" and "Travel Notification" forms from the website, as well as our secure email inbox and secure chat
  • Provide assistance to the Member Service Representative (MSR) in the call center by placing outbound follow-up calls to members when additional research as needed
  • Sign into the call center queue and answer member phone calls to assist MSR's as needed
  • Handle requests from other employees through the member communication email box, including payoff, balance confirmation and paid in full letters
  • Complete all member requests that are faxed to the member support department
  • Assist in the research of individual member issues and work with all the other applicable areas of the credit union and staff to ensure resolution and adhere to expected timeframes
  • Answer questions about any credit union product and services and cross help as applicable (Example: if the member calls in requesting for their balance, offer to walk them through setting up online banking)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma, or GED required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to learn and maintain an understanding of all services and benefits of GECU
  • Must be able to stay organized and be able to multitask
  • Strong time management skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong basic computer and keyboard skills
  • Exhibit a positive, professional demeanor
