About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chair for its Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visionary leadership that aligns with the department's mission to educate students in the fields of speech-language pathology and audiology. This includes developing and maintaining productive relationships with various stakeholders, overseeing department operations and budget, and supporting the faculty in their teaching, research, and professional development. The Chair will also be involved in program development, accreditation activities, and managing the department and clinic budgets. Applicants for the Chair position must have a PhD in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field and be eligible for tenure at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. While not mandatory, teaching and research interests in language and literacy, as well as expertise in speech, language, or hearing, are preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of leadership, faculty mentorship, and experience in program accreditation. Responsibilities also include providing teaching assignments, conducting performance reviews, and making merit recommendations. The role requires a candidate with a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment and the ability to support faculty in their research and scholarly activities.
