Position Function:
The Director of Creative Video will oversee the video content team and will shoot/edit/produce creative video content for Mississippi State Athletics and its media platforms and in-venue displays.
Salary Grade: 15

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Oversee, lead and cultivate the creative video content team and video content strategy for all MSU Athletics sports, external affairs team and overall athletic department. This includes recruiting, maintaining and cultivating our student intern team.
2. Provide creative direction and leadership for a video team made of 3-5 full-time staffers and the student intern program.
3. Collaborate with the Communications, Marketing and Broadcast teams, to maintain strategy and content calendar to produce videos and digital elements for internal and external promotional efforts.
4. Assist with creative media needs in support of assigned sports, social media, marketing, recruiting, ticket sales, videoboard, Bulldog Club and Bulldog Athlete Services and Bulldog Sports Properties/Learfield.
5. Manage alongside the Assistant AD/Creative Strategy and Senior Associate Athletics Director/Communications and Content the creative video department to ensure all sport projects are moving from concept to production, to completion in an effective and efficient manner.
6. Assist with establishing staff vision and philosophy for all social media platforms as it relates to video content.
7. Meet quick turnarounds to post high quality videos on same day that events occur, while meeting the guiding principles, strategies and goals of the department.
8. Provide insight to push department forward with emerging trends in social, digital media, as well as in-venue entertainment.
9. Ensure consistency in brand guidelines and messaging related to content and posting.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
Supervises a video content team of 3-5 full-time staffers and several students.
The above essential duties are representative of major duties in this position. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon departmental needs. Other duties may be assigned to the above consistent with the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job. Not all of the duties may be assigned to a position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Videography, Photography, Graphic Design or related field
- Experience: 3 years, Creative Media Services
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must ensure compliance with NCAA, SEC and University policies and procedures.
• Ability to travel with the team.
• Professional, optimistic, positive problem-solver.
• Required to work quickly, efficiently, and with adaptability under strict deadlines.
• Ability to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience with Adobe Creative Suite required, specifically Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.
• Work experience and knowledge of video production, including but not limited to shooting, non-linear editing, color correction, audio editing.
• Experience within NCAA Division I college athletics program desired.
• Proven success producing creative and innovative multi-media content.
• Experience in other multi-media production platforms (web sites, animation, graphic design) desired
• Knowledge of professional and cinematic video camera equipment required, including but not limited to Sony Cinema Line cameras and lenses (Fx3, Fx6, and Fx9), DJI gimbal systems, and Black Magic Design camera systems.
• Knowledge of a collegiate athletics department and the NCAA structure desired.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
• Regularly involves lifting, bending or other physical exertion.
• Often exposed to one or more elements such as heat, cold, noise, dirt, chemicals, etc.
• Job frequently requires walking, standing, lifting, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, and handling objects with hands.
