This position is responsible for designing and developing sprinkler systems to prevent or aid fire. Their responsibilities revolve around performing research and analysis, utilizing feedback from customers and other experts, producing prototypes or samples, and coordinating with engineers and technicians. Furthermore, a fire sprinkler designer may design upgrades and enhancements, create testing structures, take part in installing and repairing systems, and conduct regular maintenance checks to ensure the fire sprinkler systems' quality and efficiency.
Salary Range based on years of experience & licenses: $60,000-$100,000+
*Sign on Bonus available*
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Follow all OSHA standards and laws.
Submit drawings for approval to AHJ.
Attend regular development meetings
Address limitations of technologies and materials involved in the CAD process
Incorporate feedback into 3D model designs
Make revisions to models as requested
Run simulations and stress-tests on all 3D models before prototyping
Keep up to date on all modern advancement in material and software technologies
Pursue ongoing education in the field
Utilize large databases of material property information to best select materials for modeling
Submit drawings for approval to AHJ.
Design of plumbing drawings, as-built drawings, site water supplies design and testing.
Re-create new (MEP) and structural drawings under existing conditions for design coordination.
Read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
Provide accurate electrical schematics per client conditions and analyze and track technical specifications including dimensions, arrangements, and installation procedures.
Analyze and verify all hydraulic calculations to ensure adequate water delivery in the event of a fire condition emergency.
Perform other duties assigned by management.
Education/Qualification:
Minimum 2-year degree in related field (preferred)
Knowledge of NFPA codes
AutoSprink preferred
NICET certified preferred
Bachelor's or Certifications (preferred)
At least 2 years of experience utilizing CAD software
Minimum 2 years working in a professional environment
Strong organizational skills
Excellent attention to detail
An abundance of patience to see a complicated project to the end
Ability to think in a three-dimensional manner
Other Duties:

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
